English Major | Teaching Writing Minor
My academic career started with working towards a Biology degree and ending with an English degree. As such, I have experience working in both scientific lab environments as well as creative workshops. In my professional work I've developed skills with data analysis and interpretation as well as wet chemistry lab analyses.
In my academic career I've nurtured and eventually mastered communicating different niche genres to general audiences as well as how to research and sift through biases in media to successfully apply theoretical frameworks to practical problems. One burgeoning practical problem is that of where the visual artist fits into the process of creation in an increasingly AI flooded environment. Through my studies at Georgia Southern I've been giving opportunities to work with AI as an assistant, and this has helped me discover new ideas for my creative works as well as provide clear references for potential artists. Thus, I've come to understand AI as a tool to help both writers and artists if we have the moral capacity to not excise them out entirely.
My career goals remain open as I love both Biology and English equally. I wouldn't mind combing both in some way either by helping write SOPs for an environmental science company or injecting science directly into my creative works.
